La Faux

The Scythe
What Must Be Met

The Quatrain

La faux doit annoncer L'approche d'un danger. Pourtant, quoi que tu fasses, Il faut que tu y passes.

Danger approaches and cannot simply be avoided. The scythe asks for alertness and a decisive passage through.

The Archetype

Danger approaches, and the card is plain that it can't be sidestepped — only met with alertness. Jung had real respect for necessity: some passages simply have to be walked through, and the work is staying awake for the crossing, not avoiding it.

A Practice For Today

Face the difficult thing you've been avoiding today, directly and awake, rather than looking for a way around it.

Curious what this card means for you specifically, drawn alongside others in a live combination?
