Seven of Pentacles

As Above, So Below

The Artwork

Two triangles, one pointing down to the world, one up toward the heavens, joined by a single rosette.

What This Card Means

Points to the altruistic, spiritual, transpersonal element of all we labor toward — the desire to benefit all of humanity through our works.

The Archetype

Two triangles meet at a single rosette, one reaching down toward the world, one up toward the heavens — the oldest alchemical image there is for matter and spirit needing each other. Jung leaned on this same symbolism constantly: work done purely for material gain and work done purely for meaning both stay incomplete without the other.

A Practice For Today

Notice today how one piece of practical work you do also serves something larger than just the paycheck or the outcome.

Curious what this card means for you specifically, drawn alongside others?
