Le Trèfle
The Quatrain
[Carte] du trèfle, la voici. [Elle] signifie grand bonheur. Entourée de nuages, Elle annonce des orages.
The clover promises great happiness—unless clouds gather around it, when its good fortune turns stormy.
The Archetype
Even this deck's own surviving text is partly damaged here — an apt condition for a card about luck that depends entirely on what's happening around it. Good fortune, Jung might say, is rarely unconditional; it's a climate as much as an event.
A Practice For Today
Notice one small piece of luck today and pay attention to the conditions that let it land well, rather than taking it for granted.
